Animal pt. 2



Two days had past and Raven still hadn't gotten back at Beastboy so he actually felt less paranoid about that, but then again, he had bigger things on his mind. What with the Brotherhood of Evils strange relocation Beastboy felt anxious to get there. He entered the ops room that morning being the last one as usual.

Beastboy frowned at the normal scene before him; it was all the same, Robin looking at papers, Starfire trying to talk to him, Cyborg cooking up a storm, and mysterious Raven reading a book on the couch. "Hey, shouldn't we have left for that planet by now?"

Robin looked over the top of his reads at Beastboy, "No, Cyborg still has to fix up the T-ship. Remember, you blew yours up and ours got totaled."

Beastboy turned his attention to Cyborg, "And why isn't the T-ship ready?"He demanded.

Cyborg shrugged, "I don't know, I've been trying to get it done but there's a lot of work to do on it. I would get it done faster if you guys helped out."

Robin shook his head, "Well I can't, I have to get more information on this new base of theirs."

"And I have been helping out because I am vaguely familiar to Tameran's neighbor planet." Starfire added.

Cyborg crossed his arms, "Well fine then. I guess it will be me, Beastboy and Raven."

Raven looked over her shoulder, "What makes you think I'll be good at building a ship?"

"I don't, neither do I think Beastboy will be very good at it." Cyborg said as Beastboy glared at him, Raven smirked. "But I do need the extra hands."

"Fine, but if I screw something up, it better not be blamed on me."

Cyborg clapped his hands together, "Well good, so let's go."

"Go where?" Beastboy asked.

"The T-ship, DUH!"

"Oh... right. I knew that."

Cyborg held his hand out to Raven, "Wrench please." Raven levitated it up to him. Cyborg cranked on some bolts and tossed the tool back down. "Beastboy, torch." Beastboy flew the torch up to him and Cyborg torched some metal pieces together. "Hey do you guys think you'd be able to find a certain part in my room?" they stared at him blankly.

"Nope."

"Ditto."

"Yea never mind, I wouldn't want you going into my room anyways." Cyborg jumped down from the T-ship and walked off.

When the doors to the garage closed Beastboy immediately felt the tension between him and Raven. He looked over to her and saw that she was picking up a bunch of random tools. After a minute he couldn't stand the silence, "Whatcha doin?"

"Familiarizing the tools," She said sarcastically not even bothering to turn around.

Beastboy walked over and took the tool she had just picked up from her hand. "Look, about the thing a couple of days ago-"

"Save it, I don't want to talk about it; I don't even want to remember it happened."

"No, I just want to say I'm sorry. I know I've said it already but you still haven't, like, forgiven me."

Raven shifted her eyes to him, "You want me... to forgive you?"

"Yes. Or to know that you don't hate me."

Raven let out a single laugh and faced him completely, "Do you not remember what I told you?"

"Um, about what?"

She leaned closer to him and he could feel her breath across his lips. He shuddered. "I told you that I'd get you back. I haven't forgiven you but it's not like I hate you right now."

"Is that supposed to make me feel better?"

She shrugged, "I don't know, take it how you want it."

Beastboy pondered this for a moment and smiled, "You know? I think I'll take it as a good way," he started, draping his arm over Raven's shoulders, "Cuz that's just how I roll!"

Raven eyed him, "You going to take your arm off me?"

Beastboy looked back at her, "Naw, I'm too tired to support myself."

Just when Raven was going to respond Cyborg came back and stopped in his tracks, "Well, if you two wanted some time alone you could've asked."

Beastboy took his arm off Raven when she glared at him, "I wouldn't want that even if I was going to die."

"Hey, now that's not fair!" Beastboy shot back.

"And why not?"

"Cuz it wouldn't be up to you."

Cyborg took the rest of the steps toward them, "Knock it off so we can finish this thing."

Raven leaned back against the table in the garage and eyed the ship, "Whatever."

Robin looked up from what he was doing as his three friends entered, "You get that thing done?"

Cyborg nodded, "Yup, took all day but we finished."

"Well good, cuz we leave in two days, so get packin!"

"Packing for what?" Raven asked dully.

"Just... packing."

"Well that doesn't make sense. It's not like we're going on a vacation. Right?"

Robin scratched the back of his head, "Well, I sorta promised Star that we would stay at her home planet when we finish."

"WHAT?!" Beastboy blurted, "I don't think I could take another day staying there! I couldn't find the bathrooms and the food," he shuddered, "I didn't know what to eat."

Raven nodded her agreement, "Yea, not a good idea Robin."

"Well too bad, I don't know about you but I don't like seeing Starfire upset plus we're right there! We don't know how long this mission will take and if we need to rest before we come home, Tameran's the place to do it."

Starfire entered then and the topic was dropped because she seemed to be glowing with happiness. She looked over to her friends and gleamed, "Oh thank you friends! I cannot wait to visit Tameran again!"

They all sighed, who could resist that? "Fine," Cyborg said speaking for the rest of them, "we will go along with this."

Robin seemed pleased, "Good, not like it was really up for debate but still, good."

Starfire flew over to join them, "When do we leave?"

"In two days... That enough time to get packed?"

"Oh more than enough time... I will get started right away."

When Starfire was out of the room Robin eyed his three teammates, "Now you three get to your rooms and p-a-c-k!"

"We know, we know!" Beastboy responded as he and Cyborg left.

Raven turned to face Robin, "You owe us."

Robin had a stare down with her, "I don't owe a single thing."

Raven didn't back down, "Don't expect for us to do this again then. Because next time, you're on your own."

Robin pointed a finger at her, "Just pack."

Raven lingered for a few more seconds and huffed as she retreated to her room. Robin turned back to his computer.

Garfield was a little boy again with his mom playing outside in their wild backyard in Africa. The sun was beating down on him heating up his body as a hot breeze rustled the overgrown dry grass. Garfield didn't care though; he just skipped around looking for any sort of animals that were abundant there.

He was looking up at a bird in a tree when a loud screech came from behind him. Garfield spun around and saw a green monkey. He smiled and got closer reaching out his short arm. The monkey screamed again and flew itself at the little boy clamping his jaws down on the arm.

Garfield screamed out in pain as the monkey ran away screeching at the top of its lungs. The only feeling was pain and Garfield couldn't remember getting into his father's lab being injected. Couldn't really remember having his arm turn completely green followed by his body.

There was a swirl of black and Beastboy was now holding Raven in his arms kissing her hard. He tore off her blue satin robe and placed his lips on her shoulder, his hands traveling up and down every curve of her body.

Raven rung her hands in his hair breathing hard as he led her to the white bed. She fell back onto the mattress and Beastboy quickly pulled his shirt over his head lying down next to Raven. He leaned forward and kissed her on the mouth again pulling her into his body.

His finger started at her thigh travelling up until his whole hand was where the clasp of the bra was. He took the black thing off her body while she arched her back. Beastboy was over her now with his free roaming hand at the hem of her underwear. If he got this off she was his to control and was at his mercy. He discarded the thing.

Another spiral of black and Beastboy was on his back looking up at Terra in her Slade apprentice costume.

"Why BB, you look beaten down." She spoke matter-of-factly. "Perhaps this'll get rid of that look."

Beastboy held his arm out as she brought a boulder down on him.

Total blackness. He was completely, utterly, alone. He felt sick to his stomach; wanting to barf away this feeling of loneliness but just as his last flashes of dreams another come into view.

The city was in a total ruin, buildings were burned, ashes suffocated the air, lava replaced the water, and the tower was leaning to one side. People were cased in cement and on top of a high building he saw Raven.

Her outfit was torn in many places; markings covered her arms, body, and forehead. Her hair was long and her eyes were closed and behind her stood Slade gripping her arm, whispering something in her ear.

That's when it dawned on Beastboy, this was before she became a portal for her father, this was the start of the whole thing. He felt strange all of a sudden; he had no clue why he was dreaming this because he hadn't been there. He knew Robin was there but he was stuck in time. He then got the urge to get to Raven quickly, so he ran as fast as he could toward the tower.

He heard Slade say something to her and then she was falling, plummeting to the Earth that had gone back to the way it was. Beastboy morphed to a hawk flying to her only changing back to catch her in mid air landing on a nearby roof.

He gripped her closely to his body breathing hard. She slowly opened her eyes and looked up at him. He gave a reassuring smile, "Raven-"

That was all Beastboy could get out before Raven slowly turned to dust, floating away with the breeze. Beastboy looked horrified and got up quickly, "RAVEN!!"

Beastboy shot up out of bed sweating under his white PJ shirt. He clutched his chest gasping for air and without any thought he yanked his sheets off of him running to the door.

The world around him seemed a blur until he stopped in front of a door. He began to pound on it with his fist beginning to lose his mind with his dreams. He heard movement on the other side and an irritated groan.

He stopped his pounding just as the doors flew open revealing Raven dressed in her PJs. "What the hell is-" before Raven could go on Beastboy flew himself at her wrapping her in his arms. He began to sob into her shoulder.

"Thank God it was just a dream. Raven, I'm so sorry, I didn't know, if I would've…" His muttering trailed off and even though Raven was irritated from being woken up, she returned his hug. Raven wanted to know what he was talking about but she kept quiet.

After a few minutes Beastboy loosened his grip on her and took a step back while Raven swayed from exhaustion no longer angry. "Might I ask what that was for?"

Beastboy looked at his feet rubbing the back of his neck, "It was a nightmare."

"That doesn't really tell me why you hugged me."

Beastboy looked back up at her reaching out a hand to tuck a stand of hair behind her ear. He then stroked her cheek with his finger, "I'm just glad you're safe." And with one last smile Beastboy turned to go back to his room leaving Raven speechless. She instinctively reached her fingers to her cheek where he touched it and felt the need to ask more about the hug but she was too tired to go after him.

He turned the corner and Raven told herself that she'll ask later.
