A NEW FLOWER BLOOMS:

BY THE-GROOVY-FANFICERS

Raven closed her book with a loud ‘snap!’ a look of annoyance spread across her face. Leaning against the Titans plush couch she gazed out at the shimmering ocean below the jump city skyline. A lot had happened since yesterday. Raven had run out of her favorite tea brew and Terra had returned. Raven closed her eyes trying to keep control.

Of course Terra would return’ Raven thought. ‘So stop getting all worked up it’s not helping anyone.’ Raven had been like this all day. Trying to keep her thoughts off the new guest she had spent all of her time meditating and reading. The empath looked around wondering where the other Titans could be as the tower was silent, a rare thing to behold. Raven could not recall where Cyborg, Robin, or Starfire had gone but Beast boy was in the med bay with her.

The memory still fresh in Raven’s mind despite attempts to distract her self from it, it had been a nice, calm, rainy day perfect for reading. Raven sat in her usual place on the couch with a book tuning out the blooping and bleeping of Beast boy and Cyborg’s newest video game. Starfire sat beside her staring intently at the game screen as Robin explained it to her. The doorbell rang something not usually heard on their island.
“I’ll get it!” Beast boy exclaimed and took off.

A few moments later Beast boy called Robin on his communicator.

“What’s up Beast boy?” Robin asked. Raven looked up from her book, Cyborg and Starfire had moved closer to see the communicator screen.

“Okay”…Beast boy sounded stressed “I ‘m gonna need a uh a little help down here.

In Beast boys arms rested a ghost, a girl with blonde hair and eyes as blue as the ocean she swam across. Yes she swam a mile from the main shore to Titans tower in the rain believe it or not. Raven glared out the window. Terra was alert when the rest of the team arrived. She greeted them with a weak “hi” and a quick wave of the hand. She wore a dark blue T-shirt a pair of shorts and yellow converse sneakers. The Titans just stared at he, stared for a long long time.

Robin cleared his throat “well, Terra it’s good to see you again.”

“Yes we are most delighted of your return.”
Raven stood there mouth agape still not believing what she saw. The other Titans huddled around Terra.

“Raven are you alright?” Robin asked?

“H-how?” Raven whispered “how is this possible?” When she refocused she saw that everyone was staring at her. Terra had fallen asleep her soft snoring filled the entrance way.

“Come on B.B. lets get her up to the medical bay.” Beast boy followed Cyborg still carrying Terra. That was the last she had seen of him. The only conclusion the Titans could come to was when Raven had rid the world of her demonic father and turned stone back to flesh it had affected Terra also.

Ever since Terra had been turned to stone Raven had always made up some excuse as to why she could not break the curse. Truthfully deep down inside her heart Raven didn’t want to bring Terra back. But could you blame her? Terra had exploited her trust, her weaknesses, her Beastb-.

“Stop” she told herself.

Raven’s mind drifted back to the present as the TV remote suddenly flew into the air and came down on Raven’s head.

“Perhaps I need to meditate some more” Raven said rubbing the top of her violet hair.

The silence of her room would be more comfortable then the silence in here. Raven wanted something comfortable, something she knew unlike the pain she felt inside. Her feelings were like a flower bud ready to burst into bloom. Raven hurried through the sliding doors into the hallway.

----------------------------

Beast boy never thought it would be like this. He always knew Terra would come back, but he always imagined a party, celebration not sitting in the med bay for the past few days. Not that he wasn’t happy to be with her it was just… did he still love her? He was of course glad she had decided to return but when he gazed at her face he did not feel that same spark as before. Her eyes were closed now she breathed slowly, the sheets pulled up to her shoulders.

Terra’s bed was the one nearest the door and Beast boy planted himself right beside it, only leaving once when Starfire came in to dress her in dryer clothes.

“She has a cold best to let her rest Beast boy.” Cyborg had said.

“Terra is ready you may now enter” Starfire chimed in.

The rain was still falling as Beast boy entered the serene white room. He pulled up a chair and stared at her tranquil face.

“You’ve gotten taller.” Terra whispered.

“Yeah” he breathed. “Well that’s what happens when you don’t see some one for a few years.

“Are you still mad at me?” Terra asked her eyes open now.

“Honesty…no!” He smiled and Terra giggled.

“Terra” he began “I’m glad you came back to me-us but why?”

“I’m tired of running away.” Terra stated looking at the ceiling. “I’m scared though” Beast boy looked at her questioningly.

“I mean when the city knows I’m here won’t they want to put me in jail? I’ll go!” Terra put her hands up defensively “But you were right Beast boy I did this to myself.” She looked up and smiled at him.

“Please” Beast boy pleaded “rest now” and he grabbed her hand as she drifted off to sleep.

Terra hadn’t stirred since then so Beast boy had a lot of time to think. (Funny I know XD.) Did he really love Terra? If he didn’t why was he still holding her hand?

‘I just want things to be back the way they were.’ Beast boy thought. ‘Before Terra showed her true self, wait was this her true self now then?

“Oh god some of Raven’s distrust is rubbing off on me.” Beast boy chuckled.

Speak of the devil. Beast boy heard dainty footsteps coming down the hall. They could not belong to Starfire. She and Robin had gone to pick up dinner; neither could it be Cyborg the footsteps were too light, besides Cyborg was in the garage working on his beloved T-car. Beast boy turned his head toward the door hoping to catch a glimpse of his most mysterious friend.

---------------------------

Raven walked briskly down the hallway. ‘I wonder how Terra is’ Raven thought. Even through her natural distrust of the blonde Raven could not help being curious about her state of being. She stopped just outside the doorway. Gulping Raven took another step forward. Beast boy saw Raven appear and smiled at her. Glancing at Terra Raven could not help but notice her hand… in his. She felt a strange pressure on her like she was being watched. Raven turned and noticed Beast boy smiling at her his emerald eyes melting her heart. She froze in place ‘had he been waiting for her to come?’ Raven quickly pulled the hood of her cloak up over her head to hide the blush on her cheeks and hurried on.

Beast boy sighed. Sure he was used to getting the cold shoulder from Raven but it still felt like an anvil being dropped on his head. He had turned back to Terra when he heard a loud shatter from another room.

Raven sat on her bed not noticing one of the vases on her shelf tipped over and broke all over the floor. She looked down at her knees wrapping her arms around them.
‘Why was he holding her hand?’ she thought. Raven sat up and held her hands out in front of her.

“Maybe my hands wouldn’t be so cold if some one would hold them. A sharp pain ran through Raven’s body. Raven grabbed her head as all chaos broke loose.

Beast boy stood up immediately, letting go of Terra and ran out of the med bay into the hall. He decided to check Raven’s room first and ran in that direction. Beast boy stood in front of the door marked ‘RAVEN’. He pressed his ear up to it… silence. Beast boy cleared his throat.

“Uh Raven is everything okay in there?”

Raven looked up at the door. “G-go away” she choked out.

“Raven let me in!” Beast boy demanded “I want to see if you’re alright!”

Maybe it was a stray energy blast or Raven actually wanted to see him, either way her door slid open. Beast boy was met with utter chaos, books were flying around the dimly lit room, and things were falling off the shelves. Her curtains had been ripped off the rods and now floated around, and her furniture had a mind of its own. He noticed Raven sitting on her bed her face cradled in her hands.

Walking in Raven’s room was like walking through a shooting range. Beast boy was constantly having to dodge books, boxes and even had to jump over her dresser to get to where Raven was.

“Raven?”

Raven looked up to find Beast boy in front of her. The room calmed down then. Loud thuds could be heard as gravity once again took effect. They stared at each other for a long time finally Raven got up. She was going to push Beast boy out, ask him what the hell he thought he was doing in her room but just as she stood up she started to feel faint, she would have fallen if Beast boy had not grabbed her shoulders pulling her closer to him.

“Raven what is going on, what is making you act like this!” Beast boy had a steely look in his eyes. Raven turned her head. “Don’t hide from me” He growled pushing down her hood.

Raven looked at him again, she was shocked. Beast boy continued to glare at her waiting for a reply; she even heard his foot tapping on the ground. A tear rolled down Raven’s cheek followed by more. Beast boy tensed up. ‘Good going genius’ he wanted to slap himself. He stopped gripping her shoulders so hard and pulled her into a soft hug.

‘Don’t hold me’ Raven thought. ‘I won’t want to let go of you.’ They stood like that in silence for a few minutes, but seemed like seconds to Raven and Beast boy. Raven’s hands rested near his neck clutching the black fabric of his uniform for dear life. After a while Beast boy broke the silence.

“Raven  please tell me what’s wrong?” He spoke gentlely as if talking to a child.

“Why?” Raven murmured

“Why what?”

“Why her, why Terra?” Raven screamed Beast boy heard more shattering.

“Shush” He said soothingly trying to calm her.

“I know I’m being selfish” Raven began “look at what you would have to deal ith if you were with me-wanted to be with me I mean” She looked up to see a tear on Beast boy’s cheek.

“I’m afraid” He said.

“Of me?” Raven questioned. “It’s okay I would be too.”

“No!” Beast boy blurted out “I’m afraid that I don’t feel now what I felt then. ’I’m still clingin to the past.’ Beast boy thought to himself. “And also what I do feel now.” He glanced at his shoes before turning back to Raven.

“I just wanted to hold your hand!” Raven blurted out. Beast boy grabbed her hand off his shoulder and clenched it close to his heart.

“Anything else?” Beast boy asked gazing into Raven’s eyes. Raven looked down.

“I want you to love me?” A blush crept onto her cheeks.

“To late” He replied. Raven looked up at him tears already starting to form.

“I already do.” He smiled at her before pulling her close to him again.

“I wish you could hold me like this forever.” Raven whispered in his ear a smile spread across her face.

“I will” he whispered in hers. “As long as you want me to.”
